The site Microbiologist is responsible for the establishment, maintenance and improvement of the systems used to ensure the microbiological integrity of microbiologically sensitive products. This individual must be able to influence the organization and acts as the site specific expert on all matters pertaining to microbiology, hygiene, and sanitary practices. The role has a considerable amount of technical accountability and interaction with Corporate Microbiology resources.

Must be able to perform a regular site microbiological assessment which covers manufacturing processes, manufacturing environment, raw material receipt and handling systems, process water systems and hygienic practices. The site micro owner will also ensure that the corrective action plans resulting from the assessment are tracked to completion.

Identify potential contamination risks within the systems and determine the appropriate locations and frequency of monitoring to develop a robust daily management system.

Ensure that all relevant personnel are trained to perform aseptic sampling techniques. Define the required microbiological training and include in the sites overall training plan. Build awareness of microbiological risks and control across the site.

Ensure that all the samples are tested according to specified methods and devise a system to ensure full traceability of the samples. Provide technical coaching and direction setting for outside labs.

Routinely review the data produced by the daily management systems and provide technical coaching for action by the production leaders. Establish appropriate action levels and define the required actions when these levels are exceeded.

Become the primary site resource to review and approve new equipment and facility design related to new microbially susceptible products. Train the site maintenance/engineering staff in the basics of clean design.

Become part of the startup team for new products involving microbiologically susceptible products. Assist in the definition and execution of the appropriate validation protocols defined in the sites validation plan to prove the effectiveness of the cleaning and sanitization procedures.

Provide technical coaching to the site leaders to help them differentiate between major and minor contaminations and recommend appropriate actions to deal with both. Be able to define the corrective actions to eliminate the current contamination and prevent any re-occurrence. Lead the root cause investigation of any microbial quality incidents. Ensure that any micro contaminant is identified as a means of locating the source of the contamination.

Consult with corporate micro resources on ways of improving the cleaning and sanitization procedures.

Lead the site in the establishment and implementation of relevant good sanitary practices and procedures related to the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

Experienced microbiologist and/or a strong educational background in the field of microbiology, biology or Medical Laboratory Technician coupled with the demonstrated leadership capabilities.

BS/MS in Microbiology or Biology with Microbiology experience is required.

Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Plant technicians are hired as mid-level technicians and as a member of a work team. Based upon applicants electrical and PLC experience, the position can pay up to $25/hour plus shift differential (if applicable). Technicians perform all the Electrical and Instrumentation required job functions in an Aerosol and Non- Aerosol Liquid filling making and packing operations. E&I Technicians focus on initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects in a team centered environment with the goal of delivering the best product, at the lowest cost, and the highest quality in a safe environment. This particular E&I role will focus primarily on the Making operation. As part of the skill set, mastery in control systems and platforms is preferred.

Technicians do various types of work under minimal supervision including, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and operator interface terminals for large scale manufacturing. These systems contain multiple PLCs, Servos, HMIs, HART Instruments and Inspection systems. Technicians are responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals and maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products. Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations and confront business-related problems.

E&I Technicians also perform all functions relative to improvements in the areas of electrical and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting, throughput and changeovers on site equipment. This includes but is not limited to production lines, mix systems, and palletization areas. Also, E&I Technicians communicate with equipment vendors and part suppliers to troubleshoot, order, and improve on equipment and machine design to deliver enhanced equipment performance. They schedule, order parts, and perform all machine rebuilds and installations for the site equipment and actively participate in design and documentation improvements for line changeovers, operations and maintenance and coordinates maintenance activities with other members of the team and customers. Expected outcome is that you gain real working experience and that you get an in-depth understanding on what Marketing in Brand Management at P&G is all about. This position is for a Patent Advisor (local patent attorney) or Counsel (patent attorney +licensed as general law attorney) in the Asia Innovation group of Procter & Gamble's Legal organization. The position is located at P&G's Beijing Innovation Center and supports the company's expanding R&D operations in Beijing. The successful candidate will have independent responsibility for a particular portion of P&G's innovations (especially patent services) for a given area within the company's overall Asia operations. The role requires technical mastery in the area of patent law. A Counsel is expected to identify connections among legal theories, business problems, the external legal environment, and overall risk management in the intellectual property area. This is accomplished through intellectual property client counseling and related services such as patent application preparation & prosecution, agreements, freedom to practice opinions, agreement preparation and negotiation, providing support for IP enforcement, training for P&G personnel IP / patent matters, and compliance.

Main Responsibilities

Position is IP/patent focused and is likely tied to a business unit of the company.
Serve as the single point of contact for a select group of clients within Asia.
Ensure daily work in Asia is done with a global perspective to protect company's interest around the world.

Specific Work

Preparing detailed and substantive instruction letters for outside patent agents' responses for P&G's Asian patent cases.
Drafting original invention and design patent applications as well as utility models. Such applications are typically filed on a world-wide basis and must consider and meet the needs of all of the world's major and strategic patent office requirements.
Advising P&G personnel, e.g., R&D, business management, etc., on IP opportunity areas, advantages and disadvantages for technical propositions/products
Preparing comprehensive IP strategies
Preparing quality written legal opinions, including freedom to practice opinions, infringement opinions, invalidity opinions, etc.)
IP enforcement in Asia
Working closely with other legal, technical, and business colleagues throughout Asia (especially in Japan, China, and Singapore) and globally to ensure consistent and coordinated portfolio creation efforts and comprehensive IP risk management of multi-country and business product initiatives

Qualifications

Language

High level of English proficiency is required as evidenced in written form and oral communication skills. All communications and work products are executed in English, e.g., patent applications.
An ability to communicate and present information clearly and concisely, and to make presentations and recommendations to business management on areas of risk and situation management

Specific Requirements

BS, MS, and/or PhD in technical field from university. Suitable fields include life sciences, engineering, etc.
Local or foreign patent qualification (e.g., Chinese patent attorney)
Local or foreign attorney-at-law certification (e.g., Chinese bar examination) required for Counsel but not for Patent Advisor
2-4 years of relevant work experience in patent law (i.e., at a law firm or a multinational company)
- Patent preparation/prosecution, infringement opinions, IP enforcement, agreement drafting & negotiation, licensing are considered relevant prior experience
Strong analytical skills as well as the ability to work individually and on a team
Position is for a local position in Beijing, China with expectation of having/developing regional expertise. Will involve global interaction with legal, business, and technical counterparts and colleagues. Some limited regional travel is expected.
