Technician work teams are responsible for keeping production flowing, for meeting performance goals and for maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products.</div><div> </div><div>Technicians do various types of work, including running high-speed molding, bristling and packing equipment, using a computer terminal, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment. Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations and confront business-related problems. </div><div> </div><div>In order to perform the work described above in our manufacturing atmosphere, plant technicians use basic hand and power tools; lift up to 50 pounds floor to chest level; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; and stand and walk on concrete floors for an extended period of time.  Further, technicians have and are able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment; maintaining accurate records and data; strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of computers.  Additionally, the safety of technicians is of great importance to Procter &amp; Gamble.  Technicians will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection, wherever these things are required.</div><div> </div><div>The Procter &amp; Gamble Oral-B Iowa City Plant operates 7-days per week.  Technicians work any day of the week, including weekends.  Work on weekends may be as overtime or as part of the technician's normal schedule. Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to change the length of work shifts or the rotation schedule.  All our shifts are fixed hours; either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd on an 8 hour schedule; or 1st or 2nd on a 12 hour schedule. </div><div> </div><div>Starting rate of pay is $16.70 per hour, and periodic merit increases to a top rate of $20.57, plus shift differential.
