Research and Development Internships
P&G tends to be known as a marketing company but in fact its success has been driven by the development of superior products. In Europe alone we have about 2000 R&D employees over half of whom are scientists and engineers with advanced university degrees.
Our European intern program has successfully developed into an ideal way to hire our future R&D employees. It's a period of mutual trial - a chance for you to gain industrial experience, look at us as a potential future employer and for us to see your capabilities.
We enroll students from the different scientific and engineering disciplines into the various roles in R&D (see R&D roles on web page for details). Students are normally in their penultimate year of study of a first degree.
A standard internship normally runs for 12 weeks in the summer break but we can also run them for longer or shorter periods and at different times of the year. All our European Technical Centres (Brussels, Egham, Newcastle, Pescara and Schwalbach) participate.
On top of a great learning experience, participants will also receive an attractive remuneration package.
Job Responsibilities
During the iternship students will -
- work on their own project(s) as part of a European project team that includes senior management,
- have an opportunity to put their technical skills to work on intellectually challenging problems,
- improve their team working and management skills through practical experience and interactive training courses,
- learn to work effectively with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds,
- experience the working environment in a leading international company, and
- gain guidance on their professional development

In addition to technical excellence and a good knowledge of English, we also look for skills such as creativity, innovation, initiative, communication, leadership and the ablity to work with others.
Note that applying to one of the R&D internship requisitions is enough to be considered for the other locations, too. We will, of course, take into account your preferred choice, but if you are selected, the location will depend also on the business need, together with your preferred choice.
