You will have a broad legal role and your main objective is to provide legal support to all business operations in Benelux.

Your main responsibilities include the following:

Rendering pragmatic legal advice and analyzing and resolving legal issues that arise in the day to day operations in all areas of the French or broader P&G organization (commercial contracts, antitrust, trade relations, advertisement and promotions, litigation, employment law…);
Identifying legal issues that require involvement of more senior legal managers and making recommendations to senior legal managers on complex legal issues;
Developing efficient training programs to inform the business partners in a correct and relevant matter of legal risks and ensure legal compliance;
Interpreting and advising on current and new relevant legislation;
Actively participating in improving processes and client services.

Qualifications

You are a qualified lawyer in Benelux, with excellent academic credentials (minimum master degree).
You have approximately 18 months to three years of experience in the field of commercial and/or European law (in particular civil, commercial and consumer law and antitrust rules), gained in an internationally oriented medium size or large law firm or as an in-house counsel of a fast moving consumer goods company.
You are fluent in French, Dutch and English.
You are a solid and open-minded professional, with strong communication skills (spoken and written) and with an analytic mind, able to spot the relevant issues quickly. You are results oriented and you are willing to assume responsibilities.
You perform well in a team and you are able to work effectively with people at all levels. You have a proactive and hands-on attitude.
You are flexible and mobile.

The role will be global, with the focus on the U.S.

Responsibilities include:

Provide legal counsel to a diverse group of clients, on a broad range of regulatory and quality assurance compliance matters
Train other lawyers and clients with respect to regulatory and quality assurance compliance
Help clients respond to quality accidents, regulatory inspections, and enforcement action
Provide counsel in pharmacovigilance matters, working closely with P&G's Global Safety Surveillance organization
Legal and policy leadership regarding quality assurance compliance matters
Assess and advise on current and emerging legislative, regulatory and policy initiatives in core areas of responsibility
Participate and represent the Company in industry organizations

Qualifications

A successful candidate must have:

J.D. degree with outstanding academic performance
Membership in at least one state bar, with the ability to become a member of the Ohio bar within the first year of employment
6-10 years of experience in a corporate or government agency legal department, or law firm, with primary practice area of regulatory and quality assurance compliance matters, including those relating to GMP compliance, quality system design and safety surveillance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and very strong problem-solving skills
Track record of success in professional and personal activities
Proven leadership ability as well as the ability to work as a member of a team, both with business clients and within the Legal organization

LGL Legal Counsel Singapore - (Singapore, Singapore)

Description

The GBU Legal Counsel shall leverage legal and product expertise to establish and execute a legal strategy for the business that proactively identifies legal opportunities creating a sustained competitive advantage for the business. As the single point of contact for the Asia Legal organisation on all legal matters for a particular category, the GBU Legal Counsel will coordinate and build strong networks with Country Legal Counsels and external agencies to ensure excellent execution of the established strategy.

The responsibilities of the GBU Legal Counsel would typically include frontline (direct client facing) responsibilities for the legal affairs of one of the Company's business units, with a strong emphasis on business and advertising laws, and/or responsibilities in one of the Company's legal specialty areas, such as environmental law or labour and employment law. Depending on assignment, the GBU Legal Counsel is likely to be responsible for negotiating contract issues, negotiating with governmental and non-governmental agencies, managing litigation, working on an acquisition or divestiture, and coordinating with other key functions in the Company on highly-publicised issues. The GBU Legal Counsel is expected to develop highly specialised skills in relation to product commercialisation legal matters.

Support, build and protect overall brand design and equity by leading business strategies, plans and execution, and assessing and advising on legal matters for initiatives and action plans.
Attend and participate in Copy Approval Meetings to support and approve regional brand initiatives (product, packaging, communication strategy, advertisement copies and claims, demonstrations, External Relations materials etc.) and standard claims and artwork / visuals for use by local sales teams.
Support all business functions and work on business / product commercialisation matters (including product formulation, product safety, labelling, promotions, sponsoring activities etc.) and claim propriety, supportability and defensibility, proactively leading and managing potential issues (working closely with multiple functions) including product registration, advertising, competitive claims etc.
Own strategy for advertising litigations and align with Country Legal Counsels, including aligning with Intellectual Property (IP) Counsels on overall IP strategy (including large scale litigations). Coordinate / Align strategy and share best practices within the GBU and with other Legal Counsels in other key regions.
Make assessments of, and advise on (with input from Country Legal Counsels) product commercialisation matters, on a global, regional or country basis.
Drive compliance with laws, regulations and company policies (including competition law and advertising guidelines) and train business clients.
Provide product / category support and competitive knowledge to Country Legal Counsels and to Global and Regional Merger & Acquisition teams.
Commercial transaction work and contract drafting and review for GBU, including contract negotiation and documentation with suppliers, distributors, customers etc.
Keep abreast with global / regional / country regulations.
Develop and deploy legal toolkits to business teams, working with Country Legal Counsels in key markets.
Develop and maintain contacts with regional / Asia authorities and represent P&G Legal in regional industry associations. Establish contacts with key competitors' lawyers to facilitate dispute resolutions.
Other legal work as the Asia Legal Leader and GBU Legal Leader may assign.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to either be members of the Singapore bar or otherwise be qualified to practise law in Singapore.
Applicants should have one to five years of relevant legal experience (PQE), whether in a law practice, as in-house counsel or with the legal department of a government agency.
Well-rounded with leadership skills, vision and energy, very strong
practical and creative problem-solving skills, and ability to leverage sound base of knowledge to work in a challenging, hands-on environment.
Ability to work independently but also effectively in a team atmosphere.
Flexible in handling a wide variety of responsibilities and competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail, with strong ability and initiative, self-drive and pro-activeness to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent command of the English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent legal and internet research skills.
