As part of Procter & Gamble's North American External Relations organization, the Regulatory Affairs department works with both internal resources and external scientists in industry, government and academia on a variety of scientific issues. This position requires coordination with internal resources for the evaluation of products, packages and labels against company and government requirements.

As a co-op student, you will be challenged by the fast-paced, competitive markets in which P&G operates, by an analytical approach to the business that requires thoroughness, organization and self-discipline, and by an environment where facts and logic carry authority. Above all, you will be challenged by working with top calibre people at P&G.

Qualifications

We are looking for a self-motivated student with a technical science background, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering (Biological, Environmental, Chemical or Materials) or other related disciplines. Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency with computers are essential. Specific duties will vary with the assignment, but are likely to involve label review, formula review and the execution of a variety of other procedures for ensuring regulatory compliance for products within a specific product category. There may also be an opportunity to become involved in additional regulatory projects, which require strong technical and analytical skills. Under the guidance of a Regulatory Affairs Supervisor, and with the appropriate training, the candidate will work independently to achieve detail-oriented, comprehensive, and reliable results.
Selected candidates will be required to write an in-person Reasoning Test.

The Product Supply organization integrates the contribution of Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution and Customer Service in order to provide a sustainable competitive advantage in cost, quality, and speed to market. Co-op positions are available at both our BELLEVILLE (Ontario) and BROCKVILLE (Ontario) product supply locations.
The BELLEVILLE plant is the single supplier of OlayTM Daily Facials and AlwaysTM products for North America and is the worldwide leader of product & technology development for our biggest category of AlwaysTM products. The BROCKVILLE plant is the single supplier of Bounce, Downy, Gain and Lenor dryer sheets for the world and is the sole North American supplier of the SwifferTM branded Dusters, WetJet, Wet and Refills products and is the single supplier of Tide To Go Stainpens for the world. As key suppliers of these strategic brands, both the Belleville and Brockville plants have experienced significant technological and facilities investment over the past several years.
The Product Supply organization has opportunities focusing on process optimization projects in the areas of reliability, process control, and quality improvement in our Manufacturing operations. You will be given a detailed scope of work with varied level of responsibility, and will be exposed to many aspects of manufacturing during your term: project management, systems improvements, process engineering, etc.
The Product supply organization is also looking for individuals to join the Engineering team where responsibilities will include the development, delivery and documentation of process and technology improvements to eliminate machine stops, reduce scrap and enable machine speeds increases on high speed converters, working with operating teams, other engineers and contractors.
The work terms for both sites have a 4 month duration, depending on your interest and availability. The selection of location and starting assignment is determined by your skills, interest, and the needs of both sites.

Qualifications

Preference is given to those individuals with at least 3 years completed in Electrical, Chemical, Physics or Mechanical engineering programs at an accredited University.

IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Train and Conduct Education Events
Within assigned geographical territory, organizes and conducts education activities to generate sales of P&G Salon Professional Exclusive Line products. All Education activities conducted should be in line with set objectives and business strategy.

Builds positive working relationships with assigned KA/A accounts to ensure future growth of P&G Salon Professional Exclusive Line business. Partners with sales to emphasize education as a key business driver. Support and partner with sales in creating customer loyalty and new customer acquisition.

Attends company meetings to learn about promotions and activities, development of new technical and sales techniques, and new product introductions. Attends regional and national seminars for the purpose of further personal development.
Accountable for Accurate Reporting
Maintains accurate account information, activity reports, expense reports, itineraries or any other miscellaneous or requested written reports. Timely verbal and written communication with the Regional Education Manager and sales team within assigned territory.

Hairdressing/Industry Experience to effectively organize and conduct education activities in which customers/external partners view their expertise as a leading role model in the industry.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years salon experience as a Licensed Hair Stylist / Hairdresser preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years demonstrating, teaching or presentation experience preferred.
  • Valid/Up-to-Date Cosmetology or Hairstylist license, recognized by your province or by a relevant industry association.
  • Proficient technical skills in color application, cutting, finishing, and perming.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Professional and fashionable image.
  • Valid drivers license, vehicle and proof of auto insurance. (again we supply the car)
  • Ability to drive and travel long distances for extended periods.
  • Ability to transport education presentation materials, sample cases & etc.
  • Able to work weekends, evenings & long hours.
  • Minimum education of High School Diploma or equivalent.
